Salvation

I spent a few hours of my time this afternoon in the soup kitchen of Salvation Army. What is Salvation Army? Wikipedia has the detailed story for it. A little background, it is a Christian church that does a lot of charity.

The soup kitchen is a place where people could come and have free food. Most of them are those who are homeless, staying in the streets due to addiction, etc. They use it as a venue to share God to them.

Even if it was just a few hours, the experience was heartwarming. And tonight, I pray that at least one soul could have been saved from hundreds of them who went.

Doing a good act becomes purposeful when you do it in obedience of God’s command – to go and spread His Word.

  1. That’s great pepz! Honestly, back then I had a negative view of soup kitchens. I felt that it only helps short-term, that people remain homeless. I didn’t know there are Christian groups that organize soup kitchens, well I wasn’t a Christian then. But when I grew in the knowledge of God through the Bible it helped me see it in a different light. I’m reminded of Isaiah 58:10, “If you spend yourselves in behalf of the hungry and satisfy the needs of the oppressed, then your light will rise in the darkness, and your night will become like the noonday.”

    1. I was actually suprised when i got in their building…there is a worship service room… I was told that before they could eat in the kitchen, they have to finish a short service… Which is really nice.. Feeding the soul first… 😉

Love to hear from you
