Day 2: God Hears You

Beautifully Waiting

Reading: Psalm 40:4-5

How blessed is the man who has made the Lord his trust,
And has not turned to the proud, nor to those who lapse into falsehood.
Many, O Lord my God, are the wonders which You have done,
And Your thoughts toward us;
There is none to compare with You.
If I would declare and speak of them,
They would be too numerous to count.

Reflection:

Knowing God

  • God blesses the man who trusts in Him and who does not turn to the proud and those who lapse into falsehood
  • Many are God’s wonderful works and thoughts toward us, too numerous to count
  • God is incomparable

When you have trials in life, to whom do you first turn to?

Before I had a deep relationship with God, I always turn to my friends first whenever I have problems. I don’t even go to my family. And when I remember God, that’s only when…

Day 1: The Cry

7 Days Devotion – Persevering in Trials
Day 1

Beautifully Waiting

Reading:Psalm 40:1-3

I waited patiently for the Lord;
And He inclined to me and heard my cry.
He brought me up out of the pit of destruction, out of the miry clay,
And He set my feet upon a rock making my footsteps firm.
 He put a new song in my mouth, a song of praise to our God;
Many will see and fear
And will trust in the Lord.

Reflection:

David waited patiently, calling out to God.

God did the following for David:

  • Turned to David
  • Heard David’s cry
  • Lifted David out of the pit of destruction and of the miry clay
  • Set David’s feet on the rock that he may stand firm

David’s response to God:

  •  God put a new song on his mouth, a hymn of praise to God
  •  David proclaimed – many will see and fear and put their trust in the…

All HIS Leadership Conference

Beautifully Waiting

Every third week of January, the congregation (Christ’s Commission Fellowship) holds a leadership conference for all leaders of the church – these are not just the pastors, elders, ministry heads but also small group leaders as well as those who want to start their own small groups.

Last January 24-25, it was a privilege to be able to participate in the leadership conference entitled, “All HIS”. This is also the theme of the church for the year reminding us that everything we have belongs to God and we must be good stewards of what He has entrusted to us.

There were so many good things to take in and apply during the conference and I want to share some of the points which really spoke to me.

  • The evidence that you love God is when you do your best for Him.
  • God doesn’t need me to exist but God…

When Christians Love Theology More Than People

Just want to share my blog read tonight 🙂

Stephen Mattson

Beyond the realm of churches, religious blogs, and bible colleges, nobody really cares about theology. What does matter is the way you treat other people.

Driving 101

Today was my first 2-hour driving session. I was excited and a bit nervous. I mean, driving has never really been my thing. I just felt that I never had the courage to be in a road with thousands of vehicles around me, especially here in Metro Manila.

However, today, I got out from my comfort zone and conquered the road! Hehe… Well, thanks to my driving instructor from SMART Driving School. He was very relaxed and wasn’t pressuring me and was very patient on me so I tried to relax myself as well.

I must say it was a very productive first two hours. Since I was learning manual driving, I had to really learn the proper foot work, doing clutch, gas and brake. According to my instructor, I was doing a good job with my foot work. Yay!

My challenge was my left and right turns. I had to improve in my estimate as to when to turn. Just so many angles to look at! 🙂 I also need to practice more in changing lanes.

Well, it was just my first session, I don’t have to be hard on myself, right? I believe I did well. I got good rates, I guess in my evaluation. 🙂

Can’t believe I survived EDSA and the roundabout in Kapitolyo and Shaw Blvd! Hehe…

*pat on my back*

Tomorrow will be another 2 hours. Hopefully, I will not forget what I learned today and will get better!

License & Laundry

Now that I have more time to do personal things, finally, I was able to enroll myself to a driving school. I’ve been wanting to do this for so long, it’s just that I can never make time for it.

I got my student’s permit today, will attend some pre-driving seminars on Saturday and will have my first session on Monday! I’m just glad I can eventually get this off my list. I hope I’ll be a fast learner. The first time I attempted to drive, I didn’t enjoy it. So, I hope this time I will and eventually will get my non-prof license. 🙂

After getting a student’s permit, the next in my schedule was laundry. I had few clothes which I didn’t send to the laundry shop because of their delicate material. I had to repair two of my blouses because they got some rips when I had it hand washed by the laundry shop. Too bad, right?

Now that I have more time for laundry, I might as well do the laundry for all my clothes.  🙂

Tomorrow is general cleaning of my room and some baking!

I’m just grateful for these days that I can do some postponed chores.
