Sometimes, you need SPONTANEOUS

My good friend, MJ and I were few of the last people who stayed longer at church last Sunday. We were just taking our time as we didn’t have plans after. And then, randomly, we decided to watch any movie we can catch when we arrive at the theater. However, traffic began to move slowly. And so, we decided to go to Aberdeen Mall instead to buy some brush pens at Daiso and grab dessert after. Everything was just so random and it felt good!

This is one of the things I missed! To be able to hang out with friends without setting a date or planning ahead. I remembered the conversation I had with my other church friend, Andie, weeks ago about the things we missed back home (in Manila). Going out with friends were more spontaneous there as compared here.

Thinking about it, I realized, I, myself, have become that person who wants everything planned ahead. I, myself, have started to become unavailable to spontaneous invites. Not that I have to say “Yes” all the time. It’s just that I don’t want to reach that day when people would just stop asking because I have given an impression that I can’t make time anymore for anything unplanned.

The truth is, there are those days when there are unplanned circumstances that you just want to share it with someone immediately – in person. Nowadays, things are mostly shared through messaging or social media. What happened to, “Hey, can we meet? I need someone to talk to.” Or, “Are you home? Can I come over and hang out for a bit?”

I know there is always a right time for everything. It’s not all the time that people can just be available, even I can’t always be. It’s just that somehow, we have lost that spontaneity because of social media that we don’t see the need anymore to meet up and have a good conversation. We feel like everything is just out there and that’s good enough.

I’m not sure if this is just me, or few of us who miss life back home. Or, is it really a reality that most of us do not realize?

Daily Thoughts

Wednesday

In the bus, on my way to Richmond tonight, I saw a man in the street proclaiming about God. I don’t know what he really believes in but I really admire his courage to go out to the street and tell people about God. Inside the bus, there were these three teenagers who made a comment about what religion the guy could be in. Then, one of them said a statement which really pinched my heart. They were discussing about the end of the world and then one said, “I’ll just accept whatever my fate is.”

In my mind, I was thinking if that person truly understood the weight of those words. These encounters remind me how much Jesus need to be made known to people.

Thursday

There’s a typhoon again that made a land fall in Northern Luzon. This is old news already. Every year, there’s always this season that the country experience terrible loss, destruction and flood due to typhoon. But recently, it makes me ask why God would allow our country to experience such yearly? He can stop these typhoons, but in my mind, God allows these calamities for reasons. Whyis He allowing this in our country? What does God wants us to learn and realize? I believe it’s really time that as a nation we start seeking God and asking for mercy. It’s time that as a so-called “Christian” nation, we live it out.

Traffic

I’m grateful that I decided to do work from home today. The traffic tonight was very heavy that people got stuck for more than 2 hours in a very short distance.

Our country has two seasons only, dry and wet. And this is the time of the year that rainy season is starting. And here in Metro Manila, if it rains, people just forget how to to drive. Traffic is just unbearable. Flood on some parts of the main roads, drivers who don’t want to give way, and infrastructure work which are ongoing are the reasons why every year, when it rains so hard, traffic becomes a huge problem. Well, even if it’s not raining.

I don’t know when this problem will be resolved in Metro Manila. Every year, same problem is occurring. I’m not blaming anyone because I believe all of us are responsible for something.

I just hope that one day, rain or shine, traffic will always be moderate.

Just wishful thinking. U_U

Weekend

I had a very fun filled long weekend. Just so many things happened over the weekend that I don’t have much energy to write all about them. hehehe…

All I can say is I really had a great time spending it with people who are close to my heart.

Now that August will soon be over, it’s gonna be a new journey – difficult but still looking forward.

Thank You dear God for a great, happy weekend!
