Lovely Mess

How does your Saturday desk at home look like?

Mine is like this. But, I call it a lovely mess. It means I have been productive. 😄😅😄 Note to self: Need new flowers

And by the way, if you see that book, 40 Days of Decrease, it’s a book I recommend to everyone who wants some slowing down. It is a book that opens you to insights on things that we tend to neglect most of the time. 👍👍

Old and New

To live in another country, you can either embrace it or regret it.

As for me, I’m totally embracing it! Hehe…

It’s been almost 2 weeks and I must say I’m so grateful with the old and new friends I’m meeting.

This weekend has been a blast – people, food, laughter. It’s a time to take my mind off from my job hunting thoughts.

Last Friday, I jogged with friends at Central Park just here in Burnaby. Finally, we were able to do it after postponing it for many times. Well of course, after we jogged, we ate. Haha!photo 1 (2)

Saturday was fun day and fooood day! Hehe… My former colleague here in Accenture who has been my coach and mentor at work treat me for a fully loaded lunch in a Chinese restaurant. The food was really great. Too bad I wasn’t able to take pictures. But, really good lunch!

After that, I attended a birthday picnic party still at Central Park. Best part of the day. So many kids!

Sunday was church day and movie time after. My jogging buddies and I watched a Tagalog movie, not that we are fans of the actors but we just really wanted a good laugh. We got what we paid for. Haha!  And of course, bubble tea to close the day. 🙂

It was a full weekend.  Though I had to hit the gym when I got home yesterday. I had to burn calories. Haha!

I’m really an extrovert. I get so energized with people around. Hehe!

I thank God for relationships. 🙂

Holiday

Two long weekends in a row is just so so so so cool!

I’d never had such a restful weekend since the middle of the year. Two days of rest over the weekend were never enough. Not that I’m complaining, but just really happy that I get to enjoy another long weekend.

My roommie and I went to our favorite, “quiet” mall to just unwind. Had some Chinese for our late lunch, watched the movie, “Thor” which was really entertaining and did some little shoes and bread shopping.

I just thank God that tomorrow is just Saturday, and I still have 2 days to just relax and do the things I enjoy doing.

Here’s a photo of our bread shopping. I had my first Earl Grey Latte croughnut.

What to do?

It’s been so unusual for me lately not to do anything on weekends. I usually have scheduled meet-ups or events. But this year, I somehow made a commitment to myself to have some weekends just to rest, really rest.

Well, today, I’m just at home, wondering what to do. I want to clean my room but I just don’t have the energy for it. I want to do some grocery but I just don’t know what to buy. I want to go to the mall and catch a movie, I’m not just into the movies showing right now. I’m trying to think of what to do just to make my weekend productive but my body is saying I should just rest.

Maybe, this is what I really get for having a very busy, tiring work week. As much as I want to do the things that I really enjoy doing, my physical body just wants to rest. Oh well, rest is a luxury these days. Better grab this when I can have it.

Thanks to online delivery and online Christian movies I can enjoy. 🙂

Just watched the movie New Hope and it was a reminder for me to be sensitive to those people who are in great pain. We really don’t understand the depth of their pain, what we could really do is to show them more love and care.

My favorite line in the movie: “Christianity isn’t flawed, only Christians.”

Happy Restful Weekend to me…nyaha! 🙂

Time

Would you agree that in this lifetime, time is truly a luxury?

A luxury…

When we don’t have time…

for family
for rest
for doing hobbies
for meeting people

most importantly, for God.

I use to struggle in managing my time especially during weekends. My calendar is always booked that I got worn out and sick as often because of the lack of rest. This year, I’ve learned to somehow manage my time and make sure I really have time for God and for rest.

God was very serious when He said to keep the Sabbath holy. He knows our limitations and that we truly need rest to be recharged for the good works that He has prepared for us to do in the next days.

I thank God that He gives me 2 days off to be renewed.

Don’t you love weekends? 🙂

Happy Rest Day! 🙂
